The animatic is a drawn version of our horror movie opening sequence. The animatic is used to show the storyline and the events that will occur. Its also used to show the different types of characters and what will happen to them throughout the opening sequence. The animatic is also used to show the different types of shots that will be used such as, shots behind the graves, pans and closeups. Sound is also shown through our animatic and gives us an idea where each sound effect should be placed so it flows with the rest of the opening sequence, it also shows us the background music that will be used.

Production Company Ident: Closed Eye Studios
This is one of our company logos, we decided to call it Closed Eye Studios as we believe it fits with our horror theme. As one of the eyes blinks the title appears out of the other eye. The background will be black to make the colour of the eye stand out more, the title will be in a grey colour to link in with the horror theme. The music in the background will be quiet and as it goes on gets louder until the title appears when it abruptly cuts off.

1. The first question asked if people enjoyed an opening sequence where someone is killed, many people clicked yes. From this we know to draw an audience in we should include a killing for people to be interested init.2.The second question ask if the audience were ok with watching gore the answers were yes and maybe this means that within our opening sequence we should include some types of gore but not enough for an audience to stop watching.
3.This question asked if people prefer a male of female protagonist of both, the answers were male and both. To include a protagonist of both genders we have decide to use a group of boys and girls finding a killer for our opening sequence.
4.For this question people put that they were ok with jump scares, this means that within our opening sequence we should include some parts which make the audience jump.
5. This question asked what sub theme of horror do you prefer, slasher or supernatural. The answer for this was supernatural so within our opening sequence we will add a supernatural appearance.
6.For this question many people but a knife or gun, which suggests that one of these two weapons should be included within p=our sequence.
7.from this question we found out that many people enjoyed when a horror movie is set in an abandoned place or a graveyard as it creates a spooky effect.
8.This question told us people enjoyed the killer to be masked so we don't know there identity which creates mystery and suspense. From these questions we know what to include in our opening sequence. We have included these in as our opening sequence will be set in a graveyard, the charters will consist of two males and two females with one of them being killed. The killer will remain unidentified throughout with the weapon also being unidentified.

Opening Sequence- 'Wallander'
Mise-en Scene
The costumes used in the opening sequence are very punk and gothic style clothing, this tells us more about the characters personality. The use of the knife is to show how mentally unstable the character is this also links in with the performance of the female characters as they are walking away as if nothing ever happened, like its completely normal to them. The low key lighting also shows the female characters to be evil and to be surrounded by darkness. The use of blood is to show how brutal the movie is going to be it also shows how troubled and rebellious the characters are. The razor blade necklace is to show how violence is natural to the characters.
Editing

Cross cutting is used from the girls to the murdered man this is significant because it shows that the murdered man is of importance and is the main event of the movie. An eyeline match is used when the police officer is looking at the girls this shows the officers thoughts on the girls as he is looking at them in disgust. The long takes used are to emphasis what has just happened and to draw the audience in by creating suspense. The use of slow motion is to show the audience how brutal the murder was and the show how cold blooded the characters are.
Camerwork

The long shot used is to show the location and to show how dull and quiet it is. The close up of the girls is used to show their facial expressions which show how they aren't bothered about what's just happened and that she has no regret for what she's jus done. The pan is used to show the man in the car looking at the girls this is to give the audience a view from his perspective. The close up of the dead man's key ring shows how he has a family and to show his innocence. Another close up shot is used to show the officers badge which symbolises his importance and authority.
Sound

When the credits appear on screen the music is slow and gentle this contradicts with the opening scene as you wouldn't normal associate gentleness with violence. Sound effects are used to put emphasis on the girls heavy breathing this is to create suspense and draw the audience in. When the girl drops the knife a sharp loud noise is used to create an uncomfortable atmosphere.
